Astrology and Your Diet

Some people eat normal diet, do not exercise at all and do not put on weight, there are others who do not eat much or who keep on dieting and do exercise but still cannot lose weight. There are yet still others who eat a lot do not exercise and do not put on weight. Have you ever thought why so? Stars play a very important part in all this.
According to astrology human body falls under the influence of four tatwas ( elements) – Fire, Earth, Air and Water.
Fire Signs = 1,5,9- Aries, Leo and Sagittarius
Earthy signs =2 ,6, 10- Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
Airy signs = 3 , 7, 11- Gemini , Libra and Aquarius
Watery signs= 4,8,12 – cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.

Fiery signs are the strongest, most energetic and most vital. When the digestive fires burn then only the food gets absorbed by the body. It also burns toxins, viruses and fungus in the body. Fire signs can fight the diseases in the body easily. But if fire is low or high that means there is imbalanced of fire it can create problem. Generally people who fall under this element like to consume spicy and fried food.
Excess Fire makes a person aggressive, impatient and may lead to hypertension. Ulcers , inflammation in the body, problems like acne is related to excess fire. Person remains very thin and looks sick. One must avoid spicy foods, chilies, too much salt, hard drinks. Foods with iron and vitamin B12 are good for them. They should take all types of grains and pulses, lot of green vegetables. Chamomile and potassium is a must. Bananas, figs, spinach, cucumber, onion, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, pumpkin ,apricots. Must include lot of root vegetables and body coolant drinks in your diet.
Low Fire makes the system sluggish and metabolism slows down.. Also low body fire cannot fight diseases. One must have foods which help in the digestion and absorption of food. Avoid foods which are cold types such as dairy products. Mustard leaves, lemon, all the spices such as cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, chilly , garlic, ginger, etc is good for you. You can have non-vegetarian food and eggs.
Earth Signs- Generally people of earth signs suffer from weight related problems. They are fond of eating and tend to overeat. If planets such as Jupiter are not favorably posited the problem persists. Further if they do not exercise and lead a sedentary life style , the earth element increases and they put on weight which goes off with great difficulty. Earth element rules the eliminatory systems. If the earthy element is not in balance it affects the ability to smell. Include vitamin A and B in your diet.
Excess Earth Element- If one remains constipated then the earth element increases in the body , it makes the digestive system sluggish and metabolism slow. Too many toxins start collecting and one feels heaviness in the body. Your hair becomes coarse and skin becomes thick. Calcium starts accumulating instead of absorbed by the body. It results in weight gain. So have light foods such as boiled vegetables, sprouts, proteins, salads, hot beverages like soups and warm water. Avoid oily and heavy food which is laden with lot of spices. Have lot of water and fresh juices. Reduce salt intake and carbs. Butter milk with black pepper, rock salt will help. Try to have your last meal of the day as early as possible ( between 7:30 and 8:30 PM). One must keep the eliminatory system functioning properly. For this eat fruits early morning.
Low Earth Element – On the other side diarrhea releases too much earth element and weakens the body and bones. Muscle mass reduces and body fat decreases sharply which is harmful for the body. Body becomes unable to retain the internal temperature and you start feeling cold. One must have all root vegetables, unrefined grains, rice, curds, yogurt, minerals, boiled water for a few days, lemon water, juice etc should be taken. Pulses are also recommended. Avoid raw salads. Try to walk bare foot for some time during the day.
Airy signs- In our body air causes blood circulation, breathing process, thought process and all movements. Air is the force behind all motion. Generally people who fall under this element like to eat snacks and short eats. If the air element becomes excess in the body that means its flow is more it results in diarrhea and if it is less or blocked it results in sluggish motion, constipation or complete block. Blood circulation becomes poor, which results in tissue ischemia ( lack of oxygen) . Imbalance in air flow also affects heart rate. Excess air flow in circulatory system leads to rapid heart rate . It also causes sleeplessness, dry skin, dry hair, lack of luster.
Excess Air Element- In food , bitter taste provides us air in abundance. A person who falls under airy sign is already under the influence of air, hence more air will imbalance the air element in him. This can also lead to excess body weight. One must include in his diet healthy oils such as olive, dry fruits, cumin seeds, asafetida , spices, soups, rice, pulses. Fish, beans and all vegetables which contain vitamin B. morning and evening walks are must for excess air flow.
Low Air Element
If air flow is slow then nervous system becomes affected and weak. For a weak nervous system calcium and magnesium should be taken in adequate form. One should include in his diet lots of fruits, fruit juices, sprouts, garlic, ginger, lemon and lemon tea. Adequate sleep is required to balance the flow of air in the body system.
Watery signs- Water keeps the body cool. It also lubricates and flushes also toxins from the body. People who fall under water sign put on weight very easily as they are very fond of eating . They are emotional and at the occurrence of any problem turn towards food. They love seafood , fizzy drinks and beverages.
Excess Water Element – With too much water element in the body there is weight gain and sluggishness with slow metabolism. One must try to increase metabolism by doing regular exercise, diet control and diet change. Decrease liquid intake and include dry, hot and spicy food in the diet. Have steamed vegetables, lentils, fruits with fiber. Avoid watery fruits like melon, water melon etc. avoid sleeping during day time.
Low Water Element-If water element decreases in the body the system will not be able to flush out toxins from the body effectively. There will be less lubrication in the system which will affect skin first and then other parts of the body. Metabolism will slow down and it will affect digestion. Problem weight gain. One must have diet rich in vitamin B2, palak, tomato, cucumber , flaxseeds, watery fruits such as water melon and melon. Have soups and juices, milk and milk products. Wheat, rice and honey are also good. Increase salt intake. Must detoxify your body regularly tol balance the metabolism.
