Signification Of Planets & Houses

In the previous lesson I have explained that there are three things which  basic astrology takes into account-
1. Planets at your birth.
2. The houses where planets are posited.
3. The Rashis/ Zodiac signs in which planets are posited.
The planets have their own characteristic . The 12 houses are given some significations and jobs. 12 rashis or Zodiac signs also have their own characteristic. When we predict we take into account all these things. When a planets sits in a certain rashi /zodiac sign it takes the characteristic of that rashi and fulfils the promise related to the house it sits in .
Planets symbolize unique kind of energy which is used by us on earth like sun’s SOLAR energy. Same way they also symbolize different components of our life. Let’s see what are these.
Properties and significations of planets-

1. Sun – Sun represents your soul , your ego, your will power. It is your personality which is visible to the world. It shows bigger aspects of life. The best quality a strong Sun can give is excellent leadership. The worst quality it can give is dictatorship . In relationship it represent your father and guru.
2. Moon – Moon represents your emotions . Your mind , your inner nature which only you know. Your mood , emotional responses , your dreams all this is represented by your moon. It also shows the areas of your life where you tend to get emotional. A strong moon can make a person adaptable and weak moon gives inconsistency. In relationship it represent your mother .
3. Mars – Mars is action , a planet of physical energy. It governs your sex drive . It also gives ability to turn ideas into action. It is a planet of war. If mars is good in a chart person takes initiatives on his own, you don’t have to tell him. If it is weak person becomes harsh, uses his energy in destructive way . In relationship it represent your brother .
4. Mercury – A planet of thinking. It shows your intellect and communication ability. it shows the way you see, hear, understand and then assimilate the information. It is a planet of reasoning. It is your speech, the way you talk and impress your ideas. A strong mercury gives excellent expression and if it is weak it makes a person restless. In relationship it represent your mother’s brother ( maternal uncle) .
5. Jupiter- It is a planet of growth , good luck and success . It gives knowledge with wisdom. It is guru in life. If Jupiter is strong it gives the quality of kindness and if a weak Jupiter makes one conceitful . In relationship it represent your guru , children , elder brother, husband for a female.
6. Venus – It is a planet of love, affection, beauty, art . it also shows success in your relationships. A strong Venus makes a person charming , diplomatic and affectionate. But a weak Venus affects many things in life. A person becomes selfish, jealous , unfaithful and he takes the easy way out in life. In relationship it represent wife for a male . Venus represents all good things of life
7. Saturn – A planet of limitations , restrictions, boundaries . A planet of Karma which makes us do hard work and then gives success. Planet of achievements. If a person goes beyond limits sat punishes him. This means this planet teaches lessons of life. Not a bad planet at all. A strong Saturn inculcates the quality of being systematic and ability to organize properly. A weak Saturn makes one selfish. In relationship it represent old people and servants in your life .

Significations of all 12 houses : These 12 houses represent different areas of our life. They cover almost all the areas of human life.
In the earlier article we talked about planets , rashis and houses. As you know that there are 12 houses in a horoscope , now we will talk about the significations of these 12 houses.
First House – 1st houses represents self , personality of the individual.
Second House- Wealth ( Cash), possessions, self esteem, moveable property
Third House – Co-born ( brothers and sisters), courage, short journey, transportations, communication , reading and writing, early education.
Fourth House- Mother , basic education, comforts of the house , property, relationship with your parents
Fifth House -Progeny ( Children) , intellect , higher studies, creativity , love affairs, speculations
Sixth House Disease , enemies, legal matters, servants, employees , competitions, divorce
Seventh house- marriage, spouse, partners, status ,open enemies
Eighth House – Death , inheritance, debts, research , personal sacrifices , occult ability
Ninth House- Fate, guru, travel, religion, higher mind , ceremonies, rituals, long journey
Tenth House- Profession , father, authority, honour, social responsibility,
Eleventh House- Gains, neighbours , goals, ambitions, associations , liberty
Twelfth House- Expenses, loss, end of life, moksh , escapism, karmic debts , hospitals, exile, seclusion, jail, ending
These are not all significations. There are many more which we will tell you in a later lessons.

Planets and Zodiac signs also have significances and certain properties. Planets are natural rulers of certain houses. Below is a chart which represents natural houses of the planets and lordship of the zodiac signs for planets.
1. Aries – Mars . It means natural house of Mars is the 1 st house , and Mars has natural lordship on Aries rashi.

Sun and moon have lordship of one house each and other planets have lordship of two houses.
Properties and significations of planets-
Example-
In the following table Sun has Lord Vishnu as its Deity , sun itself is lord of Sunday , it signifies Politics , Govt jobs and industries . In relationships it represents Father. It gives leadership as quality. It signifies red colour and Ruby is its Gem stone.
